Our Background

We’re proud of the reputation that Musical Theatre Academy Nenagh has gained throughout the years - a place where students and instructors alike can thrive and make the most of their talents.

The Musical Theatre Academy Nenagh was founded in January 2016 by Stephanie Browne. 

We have over 350 students coming from Tipperary, Limerick, Offaly and Clare. We tutor children and teenagers from the ages of 3-19 in acting, singing, dance and acro. When Stephanie came home from London she could see the need for formal musical theatre training in Tipperary, so decided to open the academy. Classes are designed to instil confidence, passion and resilience in our students while also learning about all aspects of musical theatre in a fun, safe environment. 

All students take part in our end of year show and once of age, lots of students take part in competitions and performances. Here are some of our achievements: 

  • Senior Overall Vocal Group Champions of the World 2017

  • All Ireland Variety Show-down National Champions 2022 in Trabolgan.

  • Other awards from the All Ireland Variety Showdown 2022 include; Best Variety Team (Tap), Best Creative Original (The Gathering), Best Backstage, Best Solo Singer (Jayden Guilfoyle), Best Solo Dancer (Camly Byrne), Senior Star of the Future (Adam Carroll), Star of the School (Gabija Tuloyste) and the Bravery Award: Penny O Brien

  • 10 time Gold Medalist, 26 time Silver Medalist and 16 time Bronze Medalist at the World Championships of Performing Arts 2017

  • Show Choir Ireland National Champions 2019

  • Twilight Dance Convention National Champions 2019

  • Finalists at the Bord Gais Energy Theatres ‘Billy Eliot Competiton’

  • Performers on  RTE’s ‘The Late Late Toy Show’ 2019

  • Semi Finalists on TG4's ‘Junior Eurovision’

  • Performers on RTE Jnrs ‘Donnchas Two Talented’ 

  • Special guests at many events including Strictly Come Dancings, Lip Sync Battles and Variety Shows.
